Perfectionist in automotive repair and customisation.

Lee and George, two school friends who set up and launched Auto Bodyworx in 2011 at 23 years old. Both previously working for big commercial insurance repair garages, we learnt a lot. We gained valuable experience and skills and felt we could offer something more personal and bespoke. Wanting to open up our garage, we went along to The Princes Trust for our very first meeting. After successfully completing their enterprise course, we were offered a grant to start up our own business with two years of business support. All these years later, we’re proud to give back to The Princes Trust and help with work experience opportunities and apprenticeship programmes.

It has been a daunting but exciting road for us from the beginning in 2011. Whilst George had been made redundant from his job he held for many years, Lee had to end his job at a top company to form the partnership. Initially, we had many meetings and interviews with the Prince’s Trust, and impressed them with our comprehensive business plan. This secured them us a place on a business course run by the Princes Trust and also lead to a funding grant, meaning we could start setting up the business from scratch – including buying the necessary equipment we needed, securing an industrial unit and have all our branding and promotional materials designed and printed.

We have recently taken over the old Manhattan Motors unit in Earlsdon, Coventry. The owner new us very well and was about to close his doors, but offered us the opportunity to work out of this incredible space and grow Autobody Worx even more!

We look forward to seeing you,

 George & Lee
